Forex is the market for exchanging currencies. A retail forex CFD lets you speculate on a currency pair’s price movement without taking delivery of the currencies.
In EUR/USD, the quote describes the value of one euro in US dollars. A buy position benefits if the price rises; a sell position benefits if it falls, before costs. A move against your position creates a loss.
Leverage reduces the margin needed to open a position; it does not reduce the position’s exposure. Even a small price move can materially affect your balance. A stop-loss order may execute at a different price during a gap or fast market.
